Lifted

God has lifted me from my "brokenness".  Now it is time for me to take the power of his Holy Spirit and use it to lift others from the "mud and mire" of this broken world and restore them to relationships with God and myself  as I have been restored.

first day of summer

Summer officially arrives today and it looks like it'll start off RAINY. The wind was sure blowing earlier when Wifey and the dog came to bed. I had a rough evening yesterday. Got a little too hot at work and took a while to cool down and recover. Think I'm good to go again this A.M. WILL take it a little easier this day although there are those who would say "how can we tell" LOL.

looks like rain!!!!!!

As I sit here I can see lightning out my front door. We've had over 1 inch so far this weekend and it looks like more on the way. Big rains passed to the north over night, but looks like this "line" can't miss us. We could use the rain, but as it has to pass thru NW MO to get to us (not a good thing) I don't really think we need it that badly AND Little Brother still has crops to plant. and others already planted that need dry weather for further care i.e. spraying.

first disaster response

Responded to the Joplin tornado both to "rescue" my daughter and to help with clean-up.
Thanks to Deb Spaulding for reminding/prophesying that when you stop to help ppl you will meet Jesus. Some of the Jesuses I met this weekend: Dr. Ben, a vet who help treat SAR dogs; Rebecca, a fireball, working tirelessly to care for her less fortunate neighbors and friends; Steve, her neighbor, a WWII vet with some interesting stories. We are going to loose a lot of oral history if we don't stop and listen to them. Thank you Rev. Fitzmaurice for remind me to STOP and LISTEN. Neil for fixing us TWO delicious breakfasts and quoting some one else gave good stewardship advice "Show me a church that's not in debt and I'll show you a dying church." Not sure about the debt part, but I would agree to "hand-to-mouth" operations.

Sunday morning coming down

I feel like i have had a successful weekend. A good day Friday with a successful BBQ to end it. Plenty of outside work done yesterday. All my wood is piled up. And the yard is mostly free of sticks and junk. We will see what church brings this AM and what business we can accomplish at the church board metting this afternoon.

windy Sunday

It's a lazy, windy Sunday afternoon in TMONW. I got my martin house up yesterday and so far it seems to be weathering the wind well. The gusts must have caused a power flicker as my computer shut down a few moments ago. I now have a shortcut on my desktop to this blog. And although most posts will seem pretty mundane I will try to keep a daily "journal" from now on. My brother chisel plowed my garden spot this morning so maybe I will have better luck with a garden this year. I don't know that I will have as much time as last year as I may be working a lot of OT this year. While others are sufferring through lost jobs/unemployment I thank God I have a steady job and TOOOOOOO much work.
