Quiet time

It's been a couple of weeks. Getting my truck fixed, from deer encounter #6. And getting another truck, also. It's another Dakota. 4-wheel drive; of course. Extended cab, so I can haul all three of you Scott. Hope it lasts as long as the other. Keeping Ol-Blue It is like a comfortable shoe. I've had it longer than any other vehicle I've ever had. Six yrs. and counting.

weekend update

I had a productive weekend. Friday I "chainsawed" for Aunt Elsie. Saturday was Aunt Rose's turn. Yesterday was kinda bittersweet. Ten years of PRODUCTIVE ninistry at Mt. Zion/Callao ended for Pastor Bonnie. Well she still has a week of VBS at Mt. Zion. She WON'T quit. Looking forward to the new opportunities a change in pastoral leadership brings.

ANOTHER DAY ANOTHE WIDOW

Well it seems Aunt Rose was getting tired of sprouts and low limbs knocking her hat off /slapping her in the face. Walked around her yard and trimmed back most everything that was below head heighth. She gave me a cup of coffee, a hibiscus, and some yellow flowers she got from Aunt Sadie. I keep going like this and my yard may be properly landscaped in a few years.

too hot

It's even too hot in MofN to walk down to the pond for a quick dip. Even the dog is laying down and still panting.

Wifey's birthday

Yesterday was her b-day. I took off early and stopped and bought her a candle in a "cracked" bell jar holder and a balloon. The cracked part proved prophetic. A sudden gust of wind caught the balloon and tumbled the candle holder onto the floor. It is now in pieces and parts(small).

Had 2/10ths of rain out of all the downpours. It didn't wash the dog away(DARN). We did have a nice evening afterwards. I took Wifey out to dinner then back home for TWO sessions of "throw ball" with the dog. I could kill her with that except my arm plays out.

Rain, rain go away

Just back from road trip to check for flooding. I could have saved the gas if I'd checked the rain guage first. Only 7/10ths so far. Toooooooo much, but not enough to cause flooding. I wish it would stop so I could get some garden planted. Maybe a fall one of broccoli and cauliflower, etc.

one more try

I am giving this "blogging" thing one more try. It looks like it will be a rainy day and I may have nothing better to do. There is a cool breeze coming in the front door. Actually a cold wind. Does this mean the rain is over? I hope so. We have had enough. I seem to be getting a message from God to move on with my life. That He has plans for me in Lay Ministry that I NEED to explore.
